Holiday Luncheons, Breakfasts, munchie treats galore ...

Tis the season <burp>, have already put on a few lbs but luckily I only have a couple more functions to go ...

And hey look whats going on in back of me right at this moment ... <turns in chair and takes pic>

Holiday Breakfast! About 10 ft away! No one in there at the moment either ... who wants some scrambled eggs, bacon, quiche, muffins, funky casserole and about 10 kinds of juices etc?

Saturday it's an all I can eat pork BBQ and beer.

I will be doing damage to myself!

How's your schedule treating you?

There seems to be a nearly endless supply of junk food, er, holiday treats around here during December... Cookies, chocolates, cake, etc...

I do my best to show restraint but only when people are looking.

Lets just say that last nights interval session (good for 500 Kcals) was only a small dent in the intake yesterday. Maybe today will be better.

I planned a reasonably healthy holiday lunch that people at work actually liked. It wasn't a sit-down event at a planned time, so I chose food that wouldn't taste bad cold and would also not spoil sitting out for a while.

garlic-rosemary chicken & beef skewers
salmon cakes
barley mushroom cakes for the vegetarians
vegetable tray
fruit tray
french bread w/ brie cheese
chocolate cream pie w/ Splenda for the diabetics (we have too many )
a homemade Boston cream cake

Except for the dessert, it was light and not too awful. There's plenty of time to overindulge, and it's hard for the therapists when they get sleepy before their afternoon clients.

that sounds good, Donnamb. yeah, it would suck to be getting to the painfullest part of your childhood and realize your therapist is fast asleep.

I started a Holiday Ho-Down five years back in my office. Basically itís a potluck. I bring a meat and cheese tray. Others bring whatever and we just sit around working and snack for lunch. We only have two females in my office between the Unix Admins and the Intel server/notes Admins.

Thursday for us. Usually everyone brings in something, but this year we're trying something different. For $15 each in our division (about 30 of us) we are getting calzones, tacos, chili, pulled pork (all from local restaurants), lazagna, salad, & bread sticks (from Olive Garden), and a desert tray, probably from BJ's.

Oh, and Monday has been declared a Federal Holiday this year!!!!!
