I'm with you.
Last week it was in the 70s(F) here and this week we're back to normal temps -- low 26-30F, high 46-54F.

Winter starts in 4 days. In the last week we had the biggest ice storm i have ever seen in my life followed by 10" of snow, 4 days later, that all happened in late Fall. I think late Fall sucks!!!!

Too funny w/the Harden The F&$% Up message this thread is promoting. I've learned a new "Internet Acronym" today. I knew this board would add value to my daily life...not just cycling!

One word for Winter.....NOKIAN (absolutely the best studded tires!)http://www.gazzatyres.com/winter.html

And maybe SMARTWOOL...& POLY-PRO...& GORTEX...& OUTLAST

Ok...Winter is a challenging time but when you get out in it, riding your bike with not a soul else on the road/path/trail...it almost seems like you are stealing a moment more precious than time itself.

Yep...COLD too!

Enjoy,

Allen

Definitely have to get signed up with a photo storage service. Any suggestions on the best?

Snow riding offer

I'm a relative new comer to the BF community but I'm die-hard year-round rider living in Colorado Springs.

Originally from the warm, sunny beaches of So Cal and since moving to Colorado in early 2001, I've become totally smitten by the 4 seasons and opportunities to ride in them all, enjoying the particular joys of each. Makes me appreciate each one in a deeper way really, without waxing on about that!

If anyone finds themselves in this neck of the woods, whether it be for business or personal travel or just wandering the country looking for good skiing (Champagne Powder!) I'd like to offer cycling services for those inclined.

We have a small shop worth'o bikes out in the garage and multiple sets of studded tires. Being the outgoing President of the local cycling club also puts many other bikes at my disposal and we could fit you up with something w/out much hassle.

Heck, one of the BF community just moved here to Colorado Springs and I turned he and his wife on to the house just a few down from ours that just went on the market, so maybe soon you'll have a few of us to ride with.

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but I figure that with the "winter sux" heading I'd have to offer the counter point of not only enjoying the snow riding conditions but offering it up to anyone who'd like to experience it in the beauty of Colorado as well.

Knowing what I do about the BF community and a few of the regularly-posting characters across the forums....I'm thinking as a Christmas gift to Wolfpack you all should take up a collection for a flight to Colorado for her and get that poor woman to the SNOW!

As I mentioned before, I'm stepping down as President of the Colorado Springs Cycling Club after a wonderful 4 year stint...but I've been given the promotion to "Outreach Coordinator" for the club...so I'm *Outreaching* to the BF community! Come visit us, the home of USA Cycling, the 7-11 Olympic Velodrome, Carmichael Training Solutions, the US Olympic Training Facility and wonderful, year-round riding.

Especially in the SNOW! The pic uploaded is a Sunday Social Ride I led last year...I'm the stupid one in black...smiling 15deg that day...

Cheers,

Allen

He isn't whining. He's stating a well established fact. After longitudinal studies comparing equinoxial periods for the past 48 complete cycles, summer kicks the snot out of winter. The results are more marked with each passing cycle.
