Tech-saavy Foosters Help!

I've googled all around and can't find much help on this issue. I've bought a new computer before and uploaded my songs from my iPod onto my new computer by downloading some software that allows that. Now, I'm trying to do the same between my new computer and my iPhone. I can't find any download that will let me do that. If I sync with my new computer, then I'll lose all of my songs on the iPhone. Anybody know of a way to do this?

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Can't you copy the songs over to a new folder on the 'puter? That way, when you synch them, you'll have the songs to reload....

I think Apple wants you to rebuy every thing everytime you change computers. That's their income model.

Bleh.

If they could figure a way to do it every NEW day, they would. So would Verizon....

Sorry, I'll get back in my box this morning.

The "right" way is to copy the actual music files from one computer to the other either via burned DVD media or over the network.

If you're not all hip on setting up network shares, You can fire up iTunes then set up iTunes sharing on the computer with your stuff. Download OurTunes to the new PC, and use it to slurp all the files off of the old computer's iTunes library.

Note to foosters: OurTunes also works great for "tactfully acquiring" shared music on public networks such as coffee shops, dorms etc. If the music is purchased DRM protected stuff, you can't play it, unfortunately.

Well, for stuff you've bought from iTunes, it will automatically import purchased songs once you log into your iTunes account. But, I'll either need to reload all of my CD's, most of which I don't have anymore, or find a way to upload from iPhone onto my new iMac.

That sounds like end user malfunction, unfortunately.
