Time Travel - Questions for you

OK....two questions.

1) You can take any trip to any time forward or backwards, but the caveat is that its a 1-way trip. You can't come back. Would you go anywhere?

2) You can only go forward in time (and you can come back just fine). How far forward would you dare venture?

I don't know. I'd hate to go back and change anything that will screw up what I have (my wife and kids). I'd hate to go forward and see something that I would want to change and really mess things up.

Can we go sideways?

1) hmmm...tough, my romantic side would want to go back to a few areas. Middle ages (I know big range) or ancient rome (60bc maybe) or semi ancient rome (100ad)...

2) 1000 years.

1) No. Right now IS 'the Good Old Days'. Why would I want to return to a time when women are mistreated more than they are now (I'm referring to honour killings, female mutilations in certain countries, etc.).

2) Do we really want to see how much worse things can get in a hundred years? I'd prefer to go to the point where people realise that it was necessary to really get down to the nitty gritty and work on improving things...but that time may never exist.

1) Nope.
2) I'd go forward to the next Megamillions drawing, get the winning numbers and come back.

No worries. To be honest, I considered that question as it was implied anything could happen.

And really you could, you would simply teleport into nothing...might be cool too, I would ensure I brought a knife in case of major catastrophy...

I'd like to go back to the second week in August of 1982 and get in at the start of the Regan bull market.

Forward I'd be happy enough to go a day forward and gt a copy of the Racing Times. And not get greedy.

I would go back to the day x136 was born and tattoo "jsharr was here" on his forehead.

I would only travel forward in time to the day the Texas Rangers win the World Series, so no, I would not go forward.

I'd go back to 1997 and tell my brother not to get on that plane.

/however, then I wouldn't have re-met my wife-to-be, had my kids, and become the man I've become.

I'd go five years forward, see which teams won the championships for each of the preceding years, and see who won the World Cup. I'd also find the lottery numbers on one of the winners, and see where stocks are. Then come back.

Time travel...now that is a great discussion in itself. None of this going forward to get the winning lotto numbers. I am talking about how could this feat be accomplished? There have been many movies made on the subject but very few offered any insight to its mechanics. The movie about a young 'robot' boy who wanted to become a real human boy and started a quest for what turned out to be the "Fortune Teller" woman at Coney Island. He waited for eons for her to come, finally Aliens found him. Fascinating movie about time and time travel although the travel part was just a stationary object and time evolved around it.

Do I get to carry copies of The Wall Street Journal with me?

I have little desire to go back. I'm educated enough to know the good old days were not. At 54 I had a couple of classmates who were crippled by Polio. Nope I have no desire going backwards, so a couple of years for money making would be plenty.

Forward? Not sure, but I'll puit a cap at 500. I'm not all that gifted with languages and I think much longer than that and the risk of simply not being able to communicate is too large. Even 100 years would mean lots of new words. But I'd hope enough of the old ones ment the same things. (Note: But I think I'd avoid the word kink, after all I've read "The Door into Summer"). Oh ***** now that I think about it that time jump was less than 50 years. Don't remember times, but Blanch was still alive and thinking she was hot after that time jump).
