Shiner is a good beer. There is better, but there is *far* worse out there, and Shiner is in some places cheaper than the swill of mass produced beers.

Yeah, I'm in Bryan/College Station, teaching as a fixed-term at Texas A&M. I spent last fall at home in North Dakota and before that I was at Penn State working on my Ph.D. But I earned my M.A. from A&M back in 2001 so I knew exactly what I was getting myself into.

Life is good! My house is beautiful, I'm rooming with a buddy, the weather's great and I'm working in a department that is full of old friends and mentors. It's just been a busy week and I feel like taking a nap rather than setting up my place at this point.

I'll be saying "y'all" in no time (although I can never bring myself to say "yall's's").

Yeah, Shiner's the best cheap beer I've ever had. When I lived in PA, there was a liquor store in Pittsburgh that carried it. I'd pick up a case any time I was driving through.

I don't think something that small would actually be able to hold my pants up though.

Ok, so "yall's" is on the borderline, but "yall's's" is clearly not acceptable.
