Do you realise how lucky you are?

Well, do you? It really hit me today as I thought about my situation in life. Sure, there are some things that I'd like to change and improve, but the sheer number of unbelievably awesome things that I have been blessed with is really... well, unbelievably awesome. One of the many awesome things is having the luxury to spend time in Foo. Such a simple thing in some ways, but one that is dependent on so many other things going right. It's really amazing if you think about it.

That is all.

Yes.

Thank you, though, for reminding me again. Life is good... I mean, to be breathing, walking, talking, healthy is the least of it - and the biggest deal... all at once. Now, add technology to the picture and wheeeeeeee!!!

Yes.

I am reminded of this every minute of every single day.

I have often said that if I get up the morning and can fog a glass then it can only get better.

I've thought about this many times over the past several years, gbcb.

I think that so many don't really consider themselves lucky to be as healthy as they are, and I find it sad that so many just don't care to take better care of themselves when others, who have no say in their physical degenerations, would gladly exchange lives just to have a body that could be healthy....

I count my own blessings every day, and try to stay true to taking care of me, in spite of my own personal loss.

Spend a week in a third world country and you will be hating yourself for some of the things you get bummed about right now.

Oh, you can't go out and buy that new bike you want? Too bad. Someone here can't go out and buy enough food for their whole family....

I'm just sayin....

Living here has made me a much better person. You really begin to appreciate people and the times you have with them instead of the things you do or don't have.

Lucky, I hope you can keep some of those very meaningful relationships that you develop there. Try to make a difference in the life of just one kid, and you'll see a lifetime of reward. I promise you.

Yes I do in the fact that I don't live in the streets and I have food to eat so on and so forth.

Great thread. You know that Talking Heads song Once In A Lifetime?

And you may find yourself
In a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you ask yourself:
My God! How did I get here?

That's my theme song.

About 6 years ago I decided to stop making people who already had money richer and go to a third world country to build up a business that helps people, helps the environment, and helps workers. A three way win. It works, and is working well.

We have a very good life and I suppose in a way we are lucky - but in a way, it was a plan. I guess we were lucky we came up with the plan.

HAhaha…………….lucky! That’s a understatement.

Poor Childhood, Gunshot, three concussions, falling off a roof breaking my back, WAR, disease and losing my shirt.

After surviving all of that I end up in a good place with the love of my life and three great kids.

I'm so fortunate that it's sickening. If I think about it too long I'll probably start to feel guilty.

Thank you all for your posts. I've been in a bad place emotionally recently, and it is good to see others put things into perspective. (Gotta love Depression)

While I recently have been feeling down, I also understand how lucky I am. I have a beautiful wife, two health kids, and nice house and food to eat everyday. As a teacher, I get paid to have an impact on young people everyday. Plus, I have FOO. Sorta my friends away from home.
