A recent study shows that prostitutes on average make about $20,000 a year.

On a busy street, either mug the guy with the fanciest suit, or jump in front of a car and sue.

It's the American Way™.

You could ***** yourself out to 100 fat chicks for $5 bucks a pop... Or to 10 really fat chicks for $50 bucks a pop.

Middle school huh?

Caddying might work, if you can wait until summer time.

Who'd have thought it was really that simple.

If you aren't old enough for a "real" job, then there is caddying, mowing lawns, etc.... Put up flyers around your neighborhood saying you'll do "odd jobs".

Since you need money now, Scott.rider, I doubt grass-cuttin' is going to be a good option, you bein' up there in Ohio an' all. However, it might not be a bad time to line up some customers among your neighbors who will need help pruning their shrubs and bushes and gettin' the yard waste out to the curb in the next month or so. You might also consider shoveling walks and driveways, if the opportunity presents itself....

Middle school is what? 7th and 8th grade, right? So approximately 12-13 years old I'm guessing. Have labour laws gotten so wussified that 13 year olds aren't allowed to get a job any more? I got my first job bagging groceries at the local supermarket when I was 12.

Of course, that won't bring in the quick cash. Drugs, OTOH... There's gotta be plenty of kids lookin' for drugs. That's where the fast cash is made. At 13, you're not old enough for it to end up on your adult record if you get caught. Clean slate in 5 years' time at the worst.

Panhandle. Get some grubby clothes and don't shower for a few days to get that greasy glaze over your face and hair. Stand by a busy intersection with a long light and a "anything helps" type cardboard sign. Be polite to the people who give you money. Since you're young, come up with a story like "My bro and I wuz travellin' to Cali to live with my aunt, but he got picked up by the cops on a warrant from back home and wuz hauled off, leavin' me here. I'm gonna still try to get to Cali, but I need to buy a bus ticket 'cause Ma always said never to do no hitch-hikin'." This will work best if it's a cold day and you aren't wearing a proper coat. Good luck.

EDIT: Ignore the above. I agree with CliftonGK1. Drugs are where the money's at. You could be the middle school hook-up. Not only would you get phat cash, but you'd get all the ladies cause the ladies like danger and nothing says danger like a stoned 13 year old playing an Xbox.

Shoveling, yard work, detailing cars, dog walking, and cleaning gigs could work out. Or just tell people you're a web designer if you have computer skills. I hear some people make excellent money cleaning dog crap out of yards. Seriously -- anytime a job is perceived to be unpleasant, the pay is always higher.

The bad news is that even for people with lots of skills and work experience, $500 is a decent chunk of change. If there were a really easy way to get it, we'd all be doing it.

Good point, banerjek, and nice av! You look like someone I know here in Charlotte!

scott.rider, for fast money, perhaps your best bet is to go to your parents, and to negotiate work that you can do for them over the next six months (like cleaning a garage or attic, cutting grass, shoveling snow, washing the car, helping with landscaping, etc.) in exchange for, say, $300; then you can work other odd jobs outside your home to earn the rest as quickly as possible. Of course, you'll still have to work off that $300 from your parents, but you will surely keep your end of the bargain without complaint.
