Modern cars are ugly.

If it helps, that car has approximately zero chance of making it to market.

Just one opinion. Lots of people (including me to an extent) consider the nicer-looking cars gorgeous.

Yeah that Tesla Roadster is an awesome car. If I had an extra hundred grand laying around I might consider it ... but then again I wonder what ones electrical bill would be charging this thing.

$100,000.00 to spare

series 3 chev. el camino - ~$2,000.00 (or less if you forgo the engine)
Li-ion EV conversion kit - ~$2,000.00
Labour - ~$1,000.00

$95,000.00 to spend on bicycles

it's not that bad - biggest headache seems to be keeping the betteries cool but, because they're Li-ion they're pretty small and light, there's minimal space lost.

even with a lead acid conversion you can shoe horn batteries into unusual spaces (under the flatbed)

Huh. If you can fit it all under the bed and hood, it might not be so bad. Even if you had to raise the floor of the bed a bit.

That said, I'd still rather have an electric Porsche 914.

Good God that is one ugly car! I`d rather drive a Mini-Van. Thats so ugly I`d rather drive a `91 Ford Taurus station wagon with a big-*** guard-rail dent in the drivers side.

i think the biggest headache is disposing of all those batteries once they no longer hold sufficient charge!

diesel-hybrids or straight diesel is the way to go. I hope it takes over the USA soon now that we have low sulfer diesel and some manufacturers can meet the emission standards set in CALIF for passenger cars.

Meet the Mazda Furai- the Ryuga's ass-kicking big brother
