JPEG recovery...

I deleted a picture from my digicam... used a program on my wifes PC to restore it... now the image will not load on any pc.

The undelete program said this file was 100% recoverable.

Does anyone know of a way to recover this file?

I've tried to open it in Vista & Linux / Gimp ... file does not load but the size is 2.x mb (same as the original)...

It's probably corrupt. if you're savy open it up in edit.com (have to do it in binary mode and try to screenshot the header.

What specific programs other than gimp have you tried to use to open it? Photoshop?

I tried all of the windows vista viewers, and just GIMP... no luck.

Windows did mention that some of the first bits are bad.. and don't represent a jpeg file..

Try that and open the file with that and screen shot it and post it here.
Alt+ Print Screen takes a snapshot of the ACTIVE window and puts it into the clipboard.
Edit -> Paste it into an editor such as mspaint or Gimp
