Oh right today is a holiday. That's why the freeways were so empty on my way to work today.

You aren't the only one who doesn't have it off.

Thank you and the same to you. There's not much in the way of interesting MLK Day events in Portland this year for some reason, so all there was this morning was NPR programs for me.

Do you think in 20 years there will be MLK Day sales complete with cheesy portraits of Dr. King in the sales flyers just like Columbus, Washington, and Lincoln?

True ... although my wife got great pleasure this morning at the fact I was getting up for work and she was able to sleep in. I need to get a job like her with the county. Man they get every holiday off.

I'd be surprised if there weren't such things already. People in marketing don't generally have any class...

Traffic in downtown Clearwater (Home of the Scientologists) really bit the big one as I had to make a 20 mile detour around some parade. Don't they know that whitey has to work today?

I would have just walked my bike through the crowd. Simple.

I think we should do with MLK day like we do with St Paddy's Day. Everyone could be honorably Black for a day. We could even sell t-shirts that say 'Kiss Me, I'm African!'

Hard to carry all the plumbing related items, tools, ASDF manuals, lunch, 2 cell phones, AND the picture of my Wife on a bike. Wish it were possible though. Won't let you cut through parades anymore, ever since that young boy got ran over by a float.

Yeah! Just like NYC Puerto Rican day Parade. Everyone is Puerto Rican on that day.

well, since most archaeologists theorize that we all have a common set of ancestors who originated in Africa...then perhaps we already are black...just some with pigment deficiencies.

Yes.. when will they get 'a day' .. or maybe even two or three? Or four? I'm okay with four. for real. But, yeah man 364 of them is getting A LITTLE OUT OF HAND. Either whitIE should make more days in the year or they should learn to give up a few more.. come on, for real ppl.

Whitey.must.learn.to.share: WMLTS. We could have a WMLTS day.. Just one, that's it. or maybe two. or how about one for each letter of the acronym: so that would be... by my count: 25 - not quite a month. But we could always round up and have a WMLTS month. Come one ppl, whitey would still have atleast 11 more months?? They got most of the entire 20th century -- so what's a freaking month out of every year? for real?

Sweet.

So, for dinner, buy Uncle Ben's rice. Extra bonus if it's Uncle Ben's Brown rice. After decades, they finally made the Uncle Chairman. But if you notice, it's still just his picture on the wall. There is no .. Uncle.

I'm also boycotting crystal Pepsi. Just another attempt by The Man to force dark out of the spotlight.

Don't get me started there. First they take the flavor out of colored coke. Then they name it "Zero."

Crystal Pepsi is a new one on me. Must still be too controversial for these here parts ..

How in Martin's name did we get on this?

I so want to unload here but I have been dumbed down by PC over the last 10 years. All I can do is quietly scream to no one
