Thanks, x. But I guess I'm too old to understand this fine distinction. I guess I should only take it as a good thing, even if I don't understand it on a literal basis....

Ironically, I used to understand ASCII. Twenty-five years ago.... Like any foreign language, unpracticed -- nearly forgotten at this point....

polara: Thanks, my friend, for further confoundin' my ancient Vega brain. Just for that, you get to take me out for drinks.

Well, it was supposed to be hearts, like this: <3 but something made them break and explode all over the place. I'll just go ahead and change it to some text.

I recommend "heartheartheartheart". Hard to break that into itty bitty HTML fragments.

I could do that, but it would annoy me to no end having all of those words there without any spaces in between.

It's not just okay, it's got to be freaking awesome. I mean all kinds of people have tried to conquer the whole earth, how many people go out and try to conquer Uranus?

Have you seen Uranus? It's been conquered so many times, it's getting to the point where there isn't much reason to do so anymore. Neptune is more my speed. Mercury is nice, too.

I think Pluto would be a nice planet to take over as well. Well, it would have been nice to take over before it became magically not a planet.

Even better! Who wants a non-planet? The conqueror would have it all to themselves.

So do you just toss 'em into the reactor core? Because if one survived, we'd suddenly find ourselves with an epidemic of irradiated zombies.

That'd be cool.

Nope, no irradiated zombies. There wouldn't really be any way for me to get them in there during power operations without getting myself deaded. I don't want to be deaded.
