US Rebate

CNN is reporting the US government may rebate individuals $600, couples $1200 and an additional $300 per child.

If you receive such a rebate will you bank/invest it?

Will you do your part to help the US economy by spending it? If so, how?

They did this 8 years ago didn't they? A whopping $300?

Expect TV sales to rise

Same here.
Last time I'll qualify for any of these rebates, so I may as well use it wisely.

Actually....I'm probably going to get screwed this year due to my relocation package. This refund could (if I'm lucky) just save my butt.

If things go according to plan I am going to be forced to start dumping a lot of money into the economy in 9 to 12 months.

I'll spend it on more insulation for my house, and possibly some better windows (which are made in the US, where it will best help the economy). The price of keeping your house warm just keeps going up. If there's any left over, I'll look into buying a solar panel or two.

I'll spend it and add to the growing US trade deficit. Actually they should give out gift cards only redeemable for US made goods, then maybe the money might actually make it into the US economy.

Larger rebates should go to the poor than to the rich so they can end up spending most or all of it.

Since my high $ job is gone and I've defaulted on my credit cards, mine will go in payments exactly where it's intended: to help bail out our financial institutions
