That sounds like a quite turbulent time period.

1968-1970 would be nice. They were some of the best years of my youth. Spent them in a backyard that spilled into unkempt fields, swamps, thatches and tangles of undergrowth of poison ivy, and nettles and ... oh just fun stuff. Built tree forts and had tree fort wars. Often skipped lunch and just ate the wild black and red raspberries and wild strawberries - and drank out of hidden waters that bubbled out of cracks in the rocky ledges of a cliff (can't imagine what I was ingesting besides water then ...) Caught turtles, got bit by unknown bugs, slipped and fell into stuff and was always the last kid in at supper time cause, awww poo, we had to come in - and was punished for being so dirty.

And the next day the bicycle would point toward a different route and it would take me down to a creek (hehe, I learned later that a toxic landfill was right thru there as well as "Junk Man Joe's" old farm field - which was being used as a place to hide 50 gallon drums of bad things and that are now managed by NYS Superfund) where I would find giant spiders, fat black racer snakes, frogs, praying mantises and all sorts of other things -- and of course slip in, get muddy and go home and be punished for being so dirty.

The best times of all. And then we became adults ... sigh. And wish kids could experience that as well.

That's where I would go.

Dec. 31st, 2007. I lost the spare keys to my new car an hour after i bought it. I haven't a clue what happened to them and it's driving me nuts.

This is predictable, but I'll take Athens roughly 470-399 BC.

I don't think ancient Georgia is going to have much to offer.

Then I could buy all the nice people here any bike of their choice.

Ehhh... you would have missed all the fun.

You'd have dial that baby back to about 10^-35 seconds after the BB, to catch the real action...

By the time you wanted to show up, the ushers were sweeping the aisles.

I can't believe KT started a thread about time travel that contains no Dr. Who references.

You would want to be one of the thousands of "the end is near!" guys on the streets of Manhattan? No offense meant, but I'm not sure you could have done much to help.

Not as such. But he might have better luck going back a bit further and warning more than just the people trying to go into the WTC the morning of the event. Just imagining a guy out there "DO NOT GO IN THERE! IT'S GONNA BLOW UP!!! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!?!?" - I can imagine the results would not be as desired.

or, better yet, go back to the early eighties and kill osama or atta. i'm not sure killing atta would affect the outcome, but i'll bet killing osama would
