Modern phrases I can do without..

I'm 47 and pretty hip for a geezer, always like going to heavy metal concerts and partying, but as a casino dealer on the fabulous Las Vegas strip, I'm tired of all of these 25 year-old saugage-party packs of shaved-head guys walking up to the table, chest-bumping /high fiving and generally displaying way to much man-love IMO (when I was 25, the guys used to touch girls).

Here's what they all say and I'm sick of it:
1.) "That's what I'm talking about!" (if you're talking about it, you're probably talking about it...)

2.) "Are you feeling it?" (I don't care what you're feeling, just don't feel mine...)

3.) And on a different note, I hate all of thes sportcasters/CNN guys who make a statment and than add "Having said that, blah, blah, blah". It's a cliche used way to much in modern media.

Whew! I feel better already. Everything sucks!

47's not old, dammit. Cheer up, you're not a crabby old guy yet!

But I agree with you. 90% of people now are stupid.

We need to think outside the box on this thread.

Great minds think alike.

I need you to give 110% on this one. (How in gods name can you give more than 100%?)
Take one for the team. (I don't want to take one for anybody, thankyou very much.)

At 47 you're just a kid.

One of my pet peeves is the greatly over-used word, "issues".
"I have issues with my new boss."
No, you have concerns about him/her or you have problems communicating with him/her.

"There are traffic issues on highway XX"
No, there is a traffic accident on highway XX, or traffic is backed up on highway XX.

Issues - I just received the latest issue of Road Bike Action magazine. That's the "correct" usage of the word - IMHO.

"Get on the horn and call a pow-wow around 8-ish."

Three-in-one. I hate when people call the phone a "horn." I hate the word "pow-wow." And I really hate when people put "ish" at the end of time.
