Sushi!

So my gf's restaurant gathered all their sushi chefs from their multiple locations and had a sushi (and appetizer) contest. The winner's dish would end up as new featured menu item.

They were running around like chickens with their heads cut off because the photographer hadn't arrived. "DOES ANYBODY HAVE A CAMERA!?"

Me: "Um, I have this dinky point and shoot..."

"PERFECT!"

So I got to be one of the judges. FOCK YEAH!

This one was my top choice. Yes, that's mango and strawberry on top, and it was actually quite delicious. Other ones may LOOK good, but they tasted HORRIBLE

Sushi and/or sashimi = Best.Food.Ever.

...unless it's got mangos & strawberries on top & tempura in the middle. Then it's just weird.

Sushi sucks, sashimi however, rules. For those who like sashimis, go to your local fish market and bring home some fresh tuna or salmon, it's f***ing fantastic. Unagi is the sh*t too.

In Vancouver, Sushi is most trendiest dish out there, half of the restaurants here are Japanese restaurants. A year ago or so, I ate sushi for two meals a day for a week, after that, I'm never eating sushi again.

Sashimi is wonderful and nothing like the Unagi Domburi bowls you get in Tokyo station. If your in Tokyo find a nice restaurant on the Ginza and order a traditional Sukiyaki dinner with some monster bottles of Asahi and hot sake. Mmmmm good.

Does that say ¥8200 for a piece of plastic tuna sushi? Yikes. I guess you never need to buy more than one...
