Wasn't he the guy that likes pink? What is he doing with a female? Or does he call his partner a "she"?

Honestly Jon. If I was going out with a guy who shows no interest in working, going to school or generally doing something to improve his current "I'm poor" situation I wouldn't think much of him.

You are smart, you are physically capable. I know that you can handle more than you put out you can. If I lived closer, I'd come over there, drag you out by your collar and spend a day with you applying for jobs.

But you are an adult and I shouldn't have to do that.

I know I'm talking rough on you here but that is because I care about you and I want you to succeed. So get out there and get going!!

I think Siu is trying to tell you something here, although I'm not quite certain what her message is.

ARGH!!!

Did you read what I wrote before? And you're in an area that has more going on than here! Check out your local free news tabloids for alll the stuffs going on in your area!

Personally I like doing that stuff than going out to an expensive restaurant, etc.!

This is the bigger tabloids that offers all sorts of things in it.

Oh yeah, notice something on a "winterfest" at the beginning of the site? This is a free event to attend, has ice sculpture contests, chili contests (where you can go buy a small cup of chili from all the attendees for a small amount) and listen to bands freeeeeeee - and you can watch a whole bunch of stupid peeps jump into an icy lake! (I'm one of the polar bear jumpers, hehe)

http://www.freetime.com/

but my reason for writing this is that there's a bunch of stuff you can do! Go look! It's there!

Even restaurants can be fun and not expensive - go try something new.

You can just take her to the mall or something. That always worked for me.

Pheard, is there anywhere you could rent or borrow a tandem Trike?

He doesn't have any money, remember? So, renting is out of the question...

oooo - good idea.

And while we're on that note --- I've gone and taken my date (yep, my suggestion) down to ye ole Erie canal and rented out a canoe (course I knew what I was doing, and he was a newbie - hehe - but we did have fun- although he balked at trying kayaks the next week ...) - then had a hamburger at the place along the canal - lots of people milling, bicyclists - great day - and a nice inexpensive one at that.

When I was first going out with the ex-husband - we did a lot of inexpensive outtings - lots with friends - but lots just by ourselves as we enjoyed cooking out and just being outdoors. Did a lot of camping too.

OoooOOoooOOo camping <devil horns go POINK!>

My buddy's house in Pacifica is vacant so it could use a fresh coat of paint inside and out. I can get the paint and brushes and you can paint it for free. And when you're done you can find a tenant and help them move in! All for free!!

Come on, ya know you wanna do it!! Your date will love you forever!

Seriously, if you want to show her how good a person you are call the Habitat for Humanity in San Francisco and you two can help build a house. All you have to do is reserve your spots and show up for a day. They are building houses a block or so from the DC BART station so it's not too far from you.

How about Tennis or b-ball at Gellert Park?

Or bring her to that playground in GG Park near Kezar Stadium on Lincoln and slide down the long concrete slides and do silly stuff at the playground. Then bring a few homemade sandwiches and some water and have a picnic.

Or get some old bread from your house and feed the ducks at the lake in GG Park. And do the picnic thing... but with fresh bread.

I had some friends that snuck onto the Olympic Club and ran across the golf course nekid. You can try that! Just don't get caught.

Go to the mall and steal her something special! J/K!!

Good luck Jon!

I had a couple ideas actually.

One was to do a scavenger hunt of some sort, one that could be contained within the mall.

Another was for both of us to take out our cameras, and go around and take photos of things that represent the other person's personality and see how well we know eachother. Then compare the photos over some snugglin'.

I always wanted to have a candle lit dinner in the back of a uhaul truck facing the sun going down, but that costs money.

Problem is I'm too apprehensive to do a creative date beacuse I fear she won't like it. So I try to find free normal things to do.

BTW this is what I had planned to do, drive down the coast and find a cool beach. Problem is devil's slide is closed. So.... I couldn't find any cheap firewood for less than 3$, then I realized I can just take wood pallets from backs of stores. I grabbed a stack of them. I kept asking my gf if she knew how I was going to light the fire in the night conditions. Musta been a 30mph wind chill coming off the water. At that precise moment I pulled out my newly acquired gas jug, and that was that.

There are a lot of date orchards between Salton City and Palm Desert. You could probably score some free dates around there.

Go to the dump and shoot rats, then go watch trains.

Duckponds are nice and peaceful. Take a loaf of bread and relax with the lucky lady. Good times.

In my bitter scorned existence, I've found that if a woman likes you, it doesn't really matter what you do, spend, don't spend, be creative whatever. If she doesn't like it, but likes you, it just becomes a cute story. On the other hand, if she doesn't like you, there's really not much you can do to sway that opinion either. So go for it.

I liked your scavenger hunt idea, but I'd do it outside in a park or something, not a mall. Ugh, who wants to be in a mall.

I say go for it. How better to find out if you both really like each other for who you are? She may well prefer the creative dates over the standard things everyone does.

There are other routes to the coast (92, 84, etc) that are nice drives, especially if you're not in a hurry.

the camera thing is a cool idea, though why dont you just take funny pictures of yourselves and other things you see? i think the "see how much we know each other" thing has the ability to backfire.

but seriously man: candles, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and footloose. she'll go craaaaaaaaazy for you.
