Poot Poot

Hey guys,

So I like projects a lot. Last year my project was my tour across america. It consumed me day in and day out researching and planning the trip. I was typing up final directions 3-4 days before leaving after 4 months of research.

This year my project is a motorcycle. I almost barely visit BF anymore because of it. I'm on motorcycle forums looking at pics, asking questions, etc.. I just felt like giving you guys a glimpse at stage 1. I just picked up the bike today. It's a 1981 Yamaha Virago 750.

Here is a rough sketch of what I envision it to look like when I'm done with it.

I'm going for the 1920's-1940's bobber look. I was planning on using a yamaha 650 parallel twin, but I like the old school look of the virago cylinders more.

The goal is to have this thing titled/registered and running to be able to retrace parts of my bike tour to head back to the Jersey shore for July 4th. (I'm in Phoenix)

Since I just got the bike today I need to tweak my design since I didn't have engine dimensions previously. As I tweak and start to build I'll try to add more pics later.

Matt

Good to hear from ya permanentjuan. I was just wondering where you were and looking your name up a week or two ago (missing our debate on the Bauer vs. Norris topic )

I think we all know just how good Chuck Norris is at kicking ass and helping people win elections.

Nice! We've got a project going with a 1979 Kawasaki KZ400. Just picked it up last week, runs like a champ.
