Argh...So my mom's birthday is tomorrow. She wants a new digital camera. My dad, brother, and I are going to split the cost, but they want me to pick it out because I know more about cameras and I have an Office Max in my town. ()
Right now, my parents have a 3.2 MP Canon PowerShot A520 (I think). I thought a good choice for a new camera would be a PowerShot A720 IS ($229), since she would be familiar with the features and it's such a sweet camera. But both Office Max and Walmart are sold out of those right now and can't get any more in by tomorrow.
I looked at all the other cameras available, and it seems the only choices are ultra compacts with only like 3x optical zoom. My parents always keep the camera in its case when they take it somewhere, so I really don't think they need an ultra compact. Besides, she said she wanted one with kinda big buttons. These cameras have the tiniest little buttons that even I think are hard to use.
Another camera I thought could be a possibility is the Canon PowerShot SX100 IS ($299). This camera looks really nice, 10x optical zoom, and lots of features (yet is easy to use). But at 299 bones, it is a bit more than I really wanted to spend (about 200, maybe a little over).
I'm trying to get in touch with my brother to get his opinion, but he won't answer my calls. Help me decide...ultra compact or nice expensive camera?
We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.
