Who else hates computers?

They're taking over!

Last week and weekend when I was computerless I was a nervous wreck. I couldn't concentrate and worried so much about getting back online that I didn't even go riding. What a waste. And last night I couldn't sleep because now it seems my router went south along with my modem, so I can't log on with my Mac or check email. The good news is I'm supposed to get a new wireless router tomorrow so everything should be back to normal soon -- I hope.

What is the world coming to? We are becoming slaves to machines. Sounds like the story line from an old sci-fi movie doesn't it.

I guess my life will never be normal again. Hey wait. Was it normal before?
Probably not.

You know, I'm still mulling over the 'normal' part of your statement.

Give me a few more days before you make me answer that, ok?

I am lost without my Macbook. Absolutely lost. It's awful, I can't remember the last time it's been turned off (with the exception of just restarts).

I found that my PocketPC does a good number of tasks, enough that I don't really need to bother lugging a laptop around, unless I'm doing a game or doing some serious typing.

I just don't like dealing with a laptop unless I have to. It has to be watched everywhere I go, has to be locked down, and I worry about leaving some random part (charger) behind.

The laptop I bought for this semester in college is ending up languishing on a table near my bed. I may just end up slapping Windows Server 2008 on it and turning it into a backup domain controller/Hyper-V server, so it does something useful.

I think we need to talk, Jsharr.
PM me and lets discuss this irrational fear of modern electronic devices.

No way, I would have to get close to a computer and software to PM you. Not gonna happen.

+1 to the computers beating TV. This is my own personal opinion but except for 1-2 shows, TV is just not worth the time. At least on a computer, I'm actively doing something, rather than passively letting advertisers spew their stuff at me.

Its easy to get burned out with computers though. Trick is to just treat them as tools, as vehicles to a solution, and not a goal in themselves.

I tape my computer, which I do not touch, and then watch the tape on my TV.

I used to hate my computer until one day I realized that what I really hated was my Operating System. I ditched Windows XP and got Linux instead. Now I love my computer.
