Phones. Time For a New One.

It's that time again. 2 year contract with Cingular- er, AT&T is up, and I'll probably stay with them. I've been dealing with them for 2 years, and I haven't had any problems. Plus I have a frigging TON of rollover minutes. I had a Sony Ericsson W600i. Really good phone. It worked. I had it for a year and a half (phone before that broke) and so far it's been through ALOT. It's survived the laundry machine on spin cycle, being thrown out of my jersey pocket on rides, being in a swimming pool...basically, it's built like a tank.

I've been looking at phones. iPhone is too expensive. Not really worth it for me. I'm looking at Blackberry's, and possibly Treo's, also the Palm Centro, but don't know too much about that one. I haven't heard a single good thing about the Motorola Q. Samsung Blackjack? I'll read some reviews. I am leaning towards a Blackberry though. Not sure which model to get.

In short, I need something that can take the beating that I'll undoubtedly give it, plus have an adequate web browser.

That is all.

My Cingular contract expired this week as well. I ended up getting an LG CU515. The reviews seem to indicate this a good phone. It should arrive any day now, I'll post what I think of it.

I just picked up a Centro (Sprint version) about a week ago. I'm really liking it right now. I came from a RAZR, so the extra bulk kinda sucks, but having the full keyboard is nice! I actually liked the Centro keyboard better than the Treo keyboards because the keys are rubberized and sticky. Battery life could be better -- I'm getting a day with a fair amount of data usage and some phone calls. I've taken to just plugging it in when I'm at work to keep the charge up.

Although, if you're sticking on Cingular, do they still only offer the White one? That would be the deal killer for me.

Edit: Well, if Hillary says the Treo 680, you better do it!

At first, the touchscreen seemed ridiculously unnecessary, but now I can't imagine going back to a RAZR. It was a little awkward to get used to, but now I'm fine with the size of it (oh god, no dirty jokes).

Just got a Razr on ebay for $42.00, fresh out of the box. Does everything I need it to do, and several thing I don't care that it does.

If using AT&T, they have some cool smartphones (other than the iPhone). The Pantech Duo looks decent, but I'd probably go for the Tilt or the 8525.
