It's kinda weird......

Foo is the first place I thought of as comfort for grief.

After three hours at the vet we had to make a hard choice but it is better that he not suffer anymore. We had to put our dog down. He was having seizures in the morning, couldn't move much or eat. In a nut shell he was in liver failure.

RIP "Trouble" (yes that was his name)

Man, I'm sorry to hear it.

Trouble looks like he was a great dog. Best I can say is remember the fun and keep a spot for him in your heart.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

What's strange is when we get a pet, we never really realize how much in love we can fall with them. And when it's time for us to let them go, we see the void that is there. But that void doesn't always have to represent a vacant space. It's a representation of how lucky we are to have had them in our lives. Imagine how it would have been without him. And then see how enriched your life is BECAUSE of him.

Sometimes I think that we get more from them then they do from us.

You are very lucky to have had him in your life, aren't you? And I'm sure he felt the same about you. One day though, together, you will cross the rainbow bridge.

((hugs))

Oh, he was a handsome fellow! So sorry to hear about you having to make that hard decision.

Foo is a good place to come and talk...there are few of us here who have not had to face that same harsh reality with their beloved pets.

Remember him fondly, and cherish the memories.

The worst heartache I`ve ever felt was losing a great friend/pet. Sucks that he had to be sent to the next dimension but it had to be done. Trouble would not want your heart to ache. When your ready give a loving home to a new puppy do it. Nothing in this world is better than a puppy in a loving home.

I cry with you, but they know when it's time too - I gauged my lovable 16-1/2 yr old, 9 lb pet on not wanting to eat (she had been living with kidney failure, mostly blind and deaf - but still with the will to live and enjoy life) - and then she hit that day.

I know my little dog had for the most part the best kinda dogs life any dog could want. And she was happy - she went everywhere I went - she sailed, whitewater rafted, ate all sorts of wonderful things, even having her own little plate for holidays - and people knew her, in fact about 7 bars knew when I was coming in case this little fox-like looking thing with a brush for a tail came strutting in to see the bartender, not to mention traveling for about 15 years during the day in a plumbing van with my ex in her own bed as "they" did the daily work schedule. heh. She knew more bars, plumbing places and customers ...

A good life.

Your dog looks freaking happy in the pics. You did the best thing, the very best thing. Be well friend.

I wasn't going to say this earlier but your Trouble looks like my Samoyed/Chow mix I used to have as part of my family. Her name was Akoya.

I just can't stop staring at his pics.

Do you have any more?

I'm very sorry for your loss.

My boy turns 15 on the Ides of March. He's near blind and having trouble getting around, but still happy to be alive. It's coming, but not a day I wish to face anytime soon.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and words.

Sui thanks for the rainbowbridge link, and yes I have many more pics, I think I will create a slideshow with music, just have to think of an appropriate song. Any ideas.

Fuzzbox, good guess, we sometimes refered to him as our marshmallow dog. If you look close his ears look like toasted marshmallows.

Very sorry for your loss. Just went through the same thing at Christmas this last year. It was devestating. We had her for 16 years. My wife compiled video, pics & music to create this amazing tribute video on youtube. Couldn't get myself to watch the whole thing until a month or so later. I still get choked up when I think of her.

Fuzzy has a Shiba Inu herself...

I know we all hope that the sharp sting has gone, although there will be a dull ache for a long time.

Your choice of song depends on Trouble's temperament. Happy, calm, or ?

D: all of the above. He was at any one time : happy, irritated, hyper, lazy, ornry, playful, selfish, and many other moods.

Sorry for your loss half bent. The loss of pet can be devastating. Take solace in the fact that you made Trouble just as happy as he made you.

I love the Shiba Inu personallity. I surprised I got that right in a way. I know someone that has a dog that looks exactly like yours minus the curled tail and they said it wasn't a shiba.
