Has anyone been to Puerto Vallarta?

The wife and I are looking to go away for a few days in April and there are some good deals going on on Vacations to Puerto Vallarta, so I'm looking to hear from anyone who's been there.
I've been to Can Cun a couple of times and stopped in Cozumel on a couple of cruises. I Liked Can Cun much better.

I was there a long time ago (20 years) so things probably have changed a bit. I stayed on the south side of town in a nice hotel, the name escapes me. I think the bid all inclusive resorts are on the north side. Nice beach, nice town, at least 20 years ago. Great seafood, obviously, I do remember a place called Daiquiri Dick's. On the beach with great food. I also remember Liz Taylor's house and across the street Richard Burton's house connected by a foot bridge, it was pretty cool.

I go to the Mayan Riviera now, near Playa del Carmon. Also very nice and a great deal at least compared to Florida.

Nope. Nobody's ever been there. The place doesn't exist.
In search of what to search for.

I was there a few years ago. Its a really beautiful place but I only saw it for a day. I can't recommend any places except the beach and a hike in the jungle.

It's a nice place I remember I went there when I was like 5 and I had to stay at that Kid's Club place at the hotel the whole time.

Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

Was there 14 years ago. It was meh. Too touristy, not enough Mexico.

Had a much better time farther up the coast in a little town north of Manzanillo called Barra de Navidad.
