It wasn't the weather that ended my 11 day riding streak, it was this....

One measely little bolt, put washers on there, just can't keep chaintension on the Pista. Noticed it at work, went to see if there were any at the shop, there was, but unfortunately they were for an oversized bmx axle. And unfortunately the shop I work at did their orders on Monday, so I am going to have to wait until monday to order a replacement, which won't show until next Friday at the latest.

Same thing happened on my Formula hub after fixing a flat in the middle of a century ride. Fortunately, I found a larger thick washer nearby on the side of the road so I used it to take up the space for the broken serrated lock nut. No slippage.
I now carry a spare lock nut in my seat bag.

You could always just ride another bike.

That would work for me. One of the benefits of having a backup or two...or three...or four . You must keep that streak alive!
