Laptop LCD comes back to life after 6 months of blackout

The screen on my Dell laptop went out about six months ago so I purchased a desktop LCD monitor to connect to the laptop and have been using the computer on my desk since.
But just last night when I booted up the computer the Windows logo suddenly reappeared on my laptop screen for the first time since going dead. The screen is working fine now.
    What happened?

Sounds like a bad connection, did you ever take your keyboard out of the casing to see if maybe it was a little loose?

That's very odd indeed. It may very well be a bad connection but when i was having problems with my Dell LCD (notice a trend here?) on my laptop and opened it up i realized that the chances of that are pretty slim considering the way the harness is actually connected.

The dead pixels on my monitor are in the shape of the Virgin Mary's face. It's a miracle!

Sounds like a bunch of made-up BS to me.

Clearly, the display is the chosen one.

Easter miracle. Quick - list the laptop on eBay after you change the screen saver to the grilled cheese sandwich with the image of the Virgin Mary on it.

I would check my back for recent surgical wounds, sounds like someone harvested a kidney and fixed your monitor as payment.

Heh, heh... make sure you know how to use the Fn-hollow/full-screen button combination on laptops!
