    Bike Shop 911

So, today I stopped in at a local bike shop....As I was viewing the various products a guy rides up on a Felt that he was obviously test riding. When he gets off of the bike he slips (wearing road shoes and pedals) and whacks his knee on the concrete. At first it looked like a normal slip. He stood up..dusted off his knee and entered the shop with the bike. A couple of minutes later, as I was still browsing, I hear this loud noise and turn to see the same guy falling backward and pulling a display down with him. He was out cold and his head hit the concrete floor and blood appeared. He was out cold for at least 10-15 seconds. When he came to, the fire truck and ambulance was there...but it seems he was ok....wow...what a day. Not your average visit to the lbs.

That's a great lesson for us all. You shouldn't ride Felts.

I've done the same thing - rode through a doorway and whacked my knee as I came through. It was the back delivery door to my old apartment. Passed out in the elevator - came to with a couple of surprised people looking down at me under the bike. Didn't have the space to fall down and hit my head though.

Drop in blood pressure as a reaction to trauma - went into shock from hitting his knee and then his body tried to correct it by turning out the lights (lower your head to get blood where it is needed)
