Decades ago I read a story about Henry Ford II sitting in his office on the top floor at Ford's World Headquarters. A magician had gotten an appointment to audition for him to entertain at auto trade shows in behalf of Ford. The magician had Ford pick a card from a deck of cards, but keep to himself which card it was. The magician then pulled a card out and asked Ford if it was the card. It was not. The magician pulled several more cards from the deck. In each case it was not the card Ford had pulled out and put back. Ford was about ready to throw the guy out on his ear. Then the magician asked Ford to look out of his window. In the distance a skywriter was just finishing writing the correct card in the sky. The magician got the job.
Has anyone read that story? Does anyone know a source for it?
