Windows Safari

Interestingly weird. I definitely like internet explorer looks better but there is something about the features that Safari has that I like.

Safari looks cool, but until I can get addons that replicate the functionality of AdBlock Plus, NoScript, FlashBlock, and Nuke Anything Enhanced, I guess I'm sticking with Firefox.

You can do this with Safari. There is a function to block pop up windows and a "private browsing" function. You can also go to preferences and turn off Java and Java scripts and not accept cookies while your at it.

You actually like IE?????
Safari is an Apple product. It is the default browser on Macs.
If you're using Windows try Firefox. You'll REALLY like it.

Interesting, since there isn't an up-to-date browser out there that doesn't employ them...

I use Firefox on my home and personal laptop but am stuck with IE at work. I've actually grown to like tabs.

I like and prefer IE. Firefox is an acceptable second, once I got the oddities about it worked out.

I use IE6

I'm sure there are ways to turn off tabs in the other majors browsers, but I'm just too lazy to switch. I haven't had any problems with IE6.

I hated tabs for the longest time. I am used to them now, but for me, they were a foreign method of moving around computers. It reminded me of the first time windows put tabbed interfacing on the application bar...that just freaking sucked.

You could just ignore the tab ...you don't HAVE to use them

Yea, I don't get what is so bad about it. What is so special about Firefox? I've used it before there isn't that much of a difference.

Probably the tabs, ad blocking, javascript blocking, flash blocking, and other handy little plugins.

That's because MS has done everything it could to make IE as much like Firefox as possible. When Firefox first came out it was worlds better. Installing it immediately meant faster browsing and a reduction in popups and malware. IE 7 was the first mandatory IE update...and it was for good reason. I still prefer the minor differences in firefox, but that is likely due to the fact that i'm just use to them, but IE is no longer the complete crap-a-than it once was.

Sorry I never noticed. I rarely got/get malware and firefox is far from faster. In fact I despised the way it used to render graphics. Heck load time on firefox was on par with photoshop.Firefox was more of a trend than actually useful (for those who didn't have issues surfing the web, I had enough clients get malware because of poor internet usage that firefox was a savior in those situations)

Firefox uses a buttload of memory. I'm wondering how safari compares.

I use Firefox almost exclusively but it's far from ideal. It lost some of its functional advantage when MS finally released IE7. It won't release memory when it should. And now with the latest releases it freezes or crashes a little more than it used to.

I like the FF plug-ins, but most importantly, using FF doesn't scare me like using IE. I've seen a number of people get totally nailed with adware / malware using IE.

If you use Internet Explorer, I think it's mandatory to install Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Just compare Acid3 tests. IE7 gets a 5/100 on my PC, FF2 gets 53/100, Safari 3 gets 73/100.

Supposedly the new Safari and Opera browsers have both scored 100/100 on machines, I can't get them to. We'll see what FF3 offers after the BETA 5 feedback gets implemented.

Anyone that uses IE6 is doing themselves a terrible disservice with the amount of scripting and features in accordance with today's current design standards (JS/XHTML/CSS).

Exactly why I don't want to download it. Safari didn't use too much. Whenever I tried FF it took forever to open/load up

I've kept tabs on this. IE seems to use about 10mb less memory. If 10mb is something your noticing then it is time for an upgrade.

The single biggest reason i use FF is because it loads the text, then the pics. IE loads it all at once and doesn't display anything until it is all loaded. Ultimately, this is why FF is faster...

Load this page with both and see which loads faster.
