wireless lan tool - bootable cd

ok, ages ago someone recommended a tool for doing investigating wireless lans. I need to do a site survey and this tool would work perfectly...

but

I can't find the message, I can't remember the name, and nothing I search for in foo brings up anything useful. I don't even remember who recommended it. so I am taking a shot in the dark here and hopefully someone will remember the name and/or know of a tool that would work just dandy

thanks

Whoppix is a bootable Knoppix distro. There are others out there, but can't think of names right now.

Pretty much anything with netstumbler and nmap should help.

net-stumbler is what you need.

it's a free program that will find they wifi in range and get all the parameters you need to log on; channel, subnet and such. if you look on major geeks or softpedia you can find it and a program called ultimate boot disk, it will make any cd bootable an do all the setup and maintaince of hard drives

NetStumbler?
It's not a boot disk, but it freakin rules.
I've used it a few times when setting up a new network in an already saturated environment.
