Stimulus this ..

So, I'm in my SuperDuper Wally's World today trying to get some red bell pepper to make some native stew. I went there 'cos I figured it'd be cheaper than the grocery store.

One 0.3 lb red bell pepper = $3.78

Not 1 lb. Not 1 pack of 3. ONE!!! And it was tiny!

My god. The other day I wandered into the nut aisle of the grocery store expecting to pick up some cashew to snack on. $8.99/lb up from $6.19/lb a month ago.

So I get my reduced stimulus check next week (reduced because of "high income") and this is somehow supposed to give the economy a shot in the arm and provide relief from high food prices.

Never mind the gas prices ..

Okay. Done ranting.

That is all.

Word. Except for loss leaders and Walmart exclusives, they really don't have particularly low prices.

I plan to buy American... use the check and my tax refund for some Renfaire garb, and perhaps a Technet Plus subscription, so I can get access to download big updates as they come out.

Wow, you Americans have some pricey produce. Red bell pepper is $1.19 a pound at my local grocers. I bought 10 lbs of potatoes for $2.50.

So Mr. Trump, now you see why it's always less stressful to have one of the kitchen staff buy the peppers...

Not just America. Last summer we went to Quebec. Food was more expensive there than what I'm used to paying in the grocery store here.

Course when you have a garden...
