Designing my new computer. I'm going to build it this summer once I get some $$$. I'm really, really, excited. The best thing that I have at my house is a 2.4 ghz P4 with 512 megs of RAM and an GeForce 4 MX video card (gag). But now that I am going to have a job and have lots of $$$ coming in, I'll be able to build my dream computer. I set a $2,000 budget and this is what I get:
An EVGA 123-YW-E75-A1 motherboard with an nVidia 750i chipset
An Intel E8400 Yorkfield 3.0Ghz Core 2 Duo processor (drool)
2 8800 GT nVidia graphics card (more drool)
2 22" Acer widescreen monitors (lots and lots of drool)
4 gigs of 800 mhz RAM
320 gig hard drive
Full size ATX Sunbeam case. There will be 8, yes 8 fans in that case. 3 80mm fans, 2 120mm fans, and 3 PCI slot fans. I don't care about noise. I want AIRFLOW!!!!!
2 DVD burners along with a few other things.
I have been flip-flopping between XP Pro 64 bit and Vista Home Premium 64 bit..... I want to be able to play Directx 10 games, but I want the stability of XP. But from what I've heard, XP 64 bit isn't that stable and not a lot of programs work for it, but will Vista be any better......*sigh*. I still have 2 months to think about it, I suppose.......Maybe SP2 for Vista will be out by then.....one can only hope. But yeah. I'm just really, really excited about the whole thing and I can't wait to see UPS come driving up my driveway to deliver the boxes that contain my parts. I just wanted to share it with you people.
