Well, you could, depending on the snow field of course. But I believe some Icelandic "roads" actually require 4x4s, even in summer.

Who is this General Failure anyway, and why is he reading my drive?

Haha these aren't just 4x4's, these are trucks that they had to fight to get street legal.

Demonstrations are rare in stoical Iceland, a country of only 300,000 people. But the threat to jeep habits is just too much. Alfred "Spotti" Bergisson, a 26-year-old plumber who drives a beefed-up Toyota Land Cruiser, is willing to fight for his right to party. "I just want to go where I want to go," he says. "I get energy in the mountains. I think there."

Reykjavík's 6,000-strong 4x4 Club has clout. It previously talked the government into letting its once-outlaw trucks pass inspections, despite supersized wheels with studs that rip up roads.

Apparently a 4X4. Being a member of the Klan does hurt either.

Wow- so all it takes is a 4x4. - even though those Icelanders are probably listening to heavy metal
    on the car stereo.

I'm neither a member of the Klan and I don't own a 4X4, however I do like NASCAR and I live in Texas.

Personal that looks like a lot of fun in Iceland. I would love to check out the jeeping and snowmobiling action there.

I'm guessing the "bumper dumper" is an immediate qualifier.

Speaking of rednecks, we went to see Larry the Cable Guy last night. We were crying right from the git-go!

Im a devout Texan, but do not consider myself a redneck. I just think its kind of presumptuous
to use the term to describe someone who exhibits just one of the many characteristics that make
    up that type of person.

I wasn't trying to offend. I have a lot buddies that go four wheeling, and thinks it a fun time.

I can repost this. And instead of "Red Necks... in Iceland?", I'll make the title, "Icelandic off road adventures threatened by high fuel costs"

Well, since the Icelandic króna is actually doing worse than the US Dollar, it'd be the the cheapest western European country to visit.

    City folk.

Every one of y'all will put on or at least button your shirt before you go into public.

Red necks in Iceland. I don't see any carcasses strapped to a single hood.

I thought they kicked you out of Canada for doing stuff like that. Me, I live in Tennessee, so I get to see more Walmartians than I really ever wanted to.

The vehicles look too well maintained and clean to be redneck vehicles. Redneck vehicles will have rust damage, tires ready to rip apart, different colored body panels, and Bondo art everywhere, even trying to fix stuff like cracked driveshafts.
