San Diego in summer, what to see and do?

So this summer, we are planning to go check out San Diego. So if you live in the area or know the area or have visited, what would you recommend a couple visiting San Diego for about a week see and do?

We like art and cultural stuff and I like taking photos.

I loved the Wild Animal Park in Escondido.

I went to San Diego a few years back in the fall. The two things that I really liked was the tour of the aircraft carrier USS Midway and a boat tour of the San Diego Bay. Here is a pic from that.

San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge.

Balboa park is fun. Lots of museums, a nice restaurant (the Prado) and a world famous zoo.

im assuming since you're on a bike forum you might like active stuff also. La Jolla shores is a good place to swim, surf, snorkel, kayak, and scuba.

heres a scuba vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWiOB93tiH8

check out balboa park for art and cultural stuff. theres a museum there and I don't know if they still have the dead sea scrolls on exhibit. you might see a few weddings going on during the day

little italy has art exhibits sometimes.

some people like old town

the Star of India is the worlds oldest ship built in 1863.

alot of the things i mentioned I haven't even done, but would like to someday

Visit Coronado Island with your honey in the afternoon, on the beach.
Rent some bikes and go up the coast from Del Mar to Oceanside & back.
San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, & Sea World are nice.
Visit the mission church that overlooks Mission Bay, enjoy the view.
Come back and visit us again!
Enjoy your stay.......
