Here is a pretty cool concept car from the '50's

It's hardly what I would call beautiful, but interesting anyway.

I'd call it beautiful, but it was made in 1933. So think of it as the contemporary of a deuce coupe. It looks like Anne Morrow Lindberg in the back seat.

I always liked this one. The 1959 GM Firebird 3. I had a toy of it when I was a kid.

It had a 225 hp Whirlfire GT-305 gas turbine engine.

My bad I thought it was '50's. Anyway there have been some cool concept cars over the decades, too bad most of them were just that, concept.
How about the Chrysler Turbine? They did actually build more than one of them, but most were destroyed when Chrysler gave up on the project.

Don't feel bad, Buckminster Fuller was way ahead of his time.

Yeah I know that, was just saying the double-bubble type of roof with the fins makes me think of the old Batmobile.

If you are ever down on your luck, this photo should give you inspiration. It's the Futura, after its glory days and before its Batmobile days.

"AhHa" so now I know what the Bat Mobile was. Then I was thinking it would be cool driving in a rain storm, but I don't see windscreen wipers!

It always rains in Gotham. You are thinking of the Boy Scout's town, Metropolis.
See, no top.

Did you see the episode of American Pickers when they visited George Barris? He talked about building the Batmobile and the cars for the Munsters - very interesting.
