And your '30s Auburn Boattailed Roadsters

I once met the former poker champion Amarillo Slim driving one of these. He said he won it in a poker game the night before. It was one with the Cummins supercharged straight flathead eight and had to be about a $200,000 car even then in the early '80s.

Was watching Cars 2 last night. I love all of the obscure cars they throw into all sorts of places. Saw an old Tatra at the end:

I always thought they were gorgeous even if they were dangerous to drive at speed. I understand German military officers were prohibited from driving them during the war as they were very good at crashing them.

if you go into Wikipedia, it hints that Mr. Porsche jacked the design for the Beetle from an earlier Tatra... after the war, Tatra sued and got a ton of money from VW group.

I took the pic from Alfa Bulletin Boards forum, it's Fausto Coppi 1952 TDF. I don't know the original source.

Dunno who created the cross-wagon idea but they are amazingly good-looking and classy. Here is -to me- the best of 'em; Audi A6 Allroad.

I would be king of the Bostwick Cotton Fet (a real event) if I had that. That would be the high life right there.
