Look at that one's wheels a little closer.

Very common to modify the car with a 911 engine and suspension

This morning there was a 1955 French movie on TCM-RIFIFI- normally not much on subtitled movies
But this gangster flick caught my attention.Jewel robbery -rival gangs of thugs-murders-child kidnapped-old world weary gangster..
Anyway the gangsters had a REALLY beautiful getaway car-what was it??

About 1:10-1:15 into it two policemen showed up walking their bikes while on rounds in Paris
The cops noticed a car(cool car)-checked its plates(I think cops notebook said "stolen cars to check")
Anyway they were pushing kinda cool 1950's looking bikes-what I would have called an English racer back then(safe bet the french would have called it no such thing)
Bikes had tire driven generators-lights-nice upright riding posture.
Couldn't tell if they were one speed or 3 speed
Anyone recognize the bikes or the car??
And the car- very cool car the Gangsters had-what was it? About 1 hour 10 minutes in-just after they finished the jewel heist-you get a good look at it-earlier too.
Yeah-might have sold the french short car wise-poor Renault Dauphines and Simcas etc- that were sold here-USA-not really attractive

If they had imported a cool looking car like that??
    Here is a picture of a black one-1953-the movie one was a 1954-different color.Called a Citroen 11 Legere Normal

My step sister had a Karmann Ghia. The first time she hit something with it, they got the body repaired. The second time she hit something (at the same intersection as the first accident) I noticed that the bent metal looked like a pair of lips, right in the center of the front. I painted the spot hot pink and added some eyelashes above the headlights. Repair completed.

    Very interesting cars.

Got to googling them up after you reminded me of them because I'd read about them somewhere but never saw one of their cars until you posted that.

The ones they made during the Communist era had pretty large looking air cooled V8s behind the rear axle and I can certainly see why they might have some handling issues.

Don Prudhomme always had some of the nicer slingshot rails and I got to watch him race a couple of different times.

Take the wheels off and it looks like a Starfleet shuttlecraft.
"Normal" is just a setting on a washing machine.

Where do you think Star Trek got the idea from?

I'd drive that Brubaker Box. Looks like an offroad minivan, a concept I like.

The 918 Spyder. So awesome they're actually making these. Plug in hybrid supercar.
