You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

    No motor
Breathless isn't it- no BUT it is cut from the same cloth as Breathless.
The female stars in RIFIFI are pretty-but not Jean Seberg otherworldy pretty(what she saw in broken nosed low life Belmondo?-but they like Jerry lewis-so who knows)
It did have all the great views of Paris-all the great cars-snazzy dressed people-street scenes-
but by 1960-there were fewer bikes-
Rififi-1955 I think- was a bit darker-the "good gangster" wasn't "BAD" the bad gangster was "BAD"
Not a casual sociopath like Belmondo-
It -Rififi- DEFINITELY worth watching-hell you don't even need the subtitles-
The cars are prominently featured in both movies-
but bikes definitely were "more normal" in the 5 years earlier movie.
Both are movies worth seeing -and I'm not a "FILM" PERSON-
they are GOOD movies-a bit grim- but "cool"

Looked up RIFIFI- apparently it is supposed to be the best French Film Noir-it is good-and I'm not a foreign film fan
(except Godzilla- Totoro- and those too long but cool Japanese costume (7 samurai) movies- and some Chinese movies- and Hong Kong Karate movies)

In any case the cars in both movies-are cool!

Rififi is an incredible movie. the heist scene (about 1/2 of an hour) takes place in complete silence. Definitely worth watching.

Artkansas- RIFIFI is some movie-different-maybe better-than Breathless-both great movies.

    Yeah-the robbery-the tools etc-fascinating stuff
Even the 2 pistols-looked like a Lugar and Walther P-38- were interesting-
I looked closely at the two bicycle cops-couldn't see if they were armed-I don't think the French had the Brit attitude-towards armed cops??
French get shortchanged by english speaking media english speaking countries all that "Cowardly army" crap-etc because the germans defeated them -1875 and 1940(temporary)- Germans defeated everyone-for a while.
And they won our revolutionary war for us
Too bad we never got their cool cars-

One cop-maybe both-leaned the bike against a wall-not bothering with a kickstand-if the bike had one.

I do love movies-especially 1930's-1950's movies set in actual cities-see the bikes cars people signs ads trucks buildings street life

    Wow-
see we never got their "good cars" except for maybe a few cool but quirky Citroens-with fancy suspensions.
Dowdy little boxy Simcas-ok cars I guess-but not cool.

Alfasud. Alfa Romeo's biggest selling car ever.

I've had this track day video saved on my computer for a long time, I have to keep looking at it.

It shows the legendary Alfasud on a race track and that in circuit racing outright power is not everything, not saying it's not powerful though but cornering speed is impressive in these things and the little boxer engine is tough as guts. Doesn't hurt to be a good driver too and you'll love the track.
If you watch give him some laps to warm up, he gets faster and faster.

Judging by the size of the wheels/tires in proportion to the car, though, it looks like it's about as tall as a normal car, not a van. So that would be kind of interesting.

Mmm. I wouldn't call the 124 beautiful, even in 500E or "hammer" form, but it is definitely an awesome car. Those 3 piece OZ/AMG wheels arouse me.

I believe the red one's an older steel body GTV, the GTA is a race car and looks similar but has an aluminium body but both are very sought after.

How about a little love for the lowly Ford Maverick.

In Brazil they were considered muscle cars with a 302 V8.
