That is the last of the V8s.
Careful with the dynamite charge next to the fuel tank, and the dog in the back bites.

I love that thing. Even though calling it a Volkswagen is very nearly untrue. It's about 10% Volkswagen, 60% Porsche 993, and 30% custom (the entire roof is carbon fiber!).

The FD is one of my all-time favorites. Taut, yet sensuous curves all over that body.

I like the earlier FC best when it's white and has the RedSuns logo on its flank.

convertibles and coupes have different crash test processes, so it was something about how the EPA wanted more of the car to do crash tests on than were produced...
that said, i love my 2000 hard-s.

Porsche designed Volkswagon and that bus (the 60's) is not far off from the first one he did all the design on so its all good.

Just because most manufacturers can't be arsed to do much more than slap an extra, poorly-designed afterthought onto the back of a sedan, often without even changing the c-pillar (*shu-dder*), is no reason to damn an entire bodystyle.

That said, the front end of that Maserati kind of looks like a fish.
