My ute will need to not be lowered, I have a gravel driveway with a nice slope. But one of those needs NC plates on it badly.

I found just the right car for you, just the ticket for those gravel driveways. Holden Avalanche Cross 8

Blasphemy.

The back top just does not flow with the rest of the car. The deep indenting of the windows, and it looks like the sides are solid anyway, trying to be a panel wagon. That hood scoop, p.u. And then, the scoop is all sharp corners and the back is rounded like an english taxi no consistency.

Thumbs down.

They may be. I know that by the 80's they were. I've found a couple of sets for my car (126 S-class,) too much $$$ and work for my taste.

And I agree the mustang is horrid.

Last Saturday I had to drive to Chattanooga and passed a ford gt on 75. The driver looked super cool wearing earplugs.

Lol. Always love seeing those things. I discovered the other day that one of my new neighbors has one of these:

(Countach) The guy even had it up on stands doing some work.

You might see him working on it more than driving it.

My nephew is the IT director for a large company and from all accounts he has a great boss, one of his job perks is the nicely kept BMW 535i ('86) that now sits in his driveway. It had belonged to the owner's mom who quit driving some years ago and it had just been kept in storage and they asked my nephew if he wanted it.

It is in beautiful shape and was always meticulously serviced and cared for.

Then we had an '08 Fit (Jazz to the rest of you) and when we outgrew that (which took 5 years), we got our '09 CR-V.
That CR-V is both Mommy's kid-carriage and Daddy's truck.
So yes, we love the Hondas in this house.
I would love to find a 1st gen CRV for my wife to use, to replace her increasingly unreliable 96 Corolla. Or one with manual trans if it were to be my car. The chassis and engine are almost identical to 92-00 Civics and 94-01 Integras (like my car). And mechanically the B20B 2.0L engine is very similar to the 1.8L in my wife's Corolla.

But IMHO all the CRV's after the 1st gen just got way too porky for my liking.

Oh and here's a pic I snapped at a local Italian car show several years ago. It rained that day but the pic still came out great, I thought.

I had a co-worker at Sun who shoe-horned a 1st-gen CR-V engine into a ~95ish Civic hatchback with some JDM engine mods and an Acura Integra interior. Man, that thing went like stink off the line.
