nope. not original.

my brother bought one after law school.

had some work done on it, but it turned out to be crap work (i.e. bondo).

my father got interested. got a guy on the case, who ended up buying two cars for parts. turned out there were enough spare parts for a 2nd car. that's the car in the pic.

my brother's karmann ghia is british racin green, and in even better shape.

Hell of a parts car.

Looks like a near-end-of-the-run model (74? 76?), but the Ghia didn't hang around long enough to get quite as crufted up as the Beetle.

There's a nice driver down the street from me (not BRG, just green) that I doubt I'd be able to resist buying on the spot if a sign ever went up in the window.

VW L1

Looks like VW is toying with the idea of bringing back the Messerschmitt KR200.

Wow, here's a Messerschmitt for sale right down the road from me.

Those particular Morgans use the same headlights as the New Beetle.

I think they're all ash, aren't they? The Aero 8's are bonded to aluminum, though.

I have a friend that was the maintenance department for a Morgan dealership. He had one in the shop. It's really not that great looking a car, unfortunately. It looks totally misplaced. I much prefer the other Morgans. They're much classier, IMO.

I think they went to aluminum in the aero 8

{edit** Yep you're right, still an ash frame. Just went to Al for the chassis. Good ol' Wiki.

I'm sorry if this thing has already been mentioned.

It comes from a small bavarian no name manufacturer. It's one of the new generation ultra fuel efficient cars. Just like one of the big car makers. Looks pretty similar to the small boxes made after ww2 . Expensive compared to the cheapest cars , just like the smarts and priuses are. Still affordable compared to most of the stuff in this thread. Not beautiful but I think it is cute.

Please get side doors and paint it red.

No, he's using the ubiquitous facepalm as a response to your complaint about the US-spec bumpers.

Personally, I always knew the SL convertibles with the huge bumpers, so to my eye, they became part of the styling of the car itself and didn't detract from what I still thought was a great-looking car. With the original bumpers, it looks like something's missing.

I always felt the US bumpers looked like an afterthought and made to fit from a different vehicle. The big rubber fillers look like they belong on a UPS truck and the bumper looked like it was off a Yellow cab.

The European bumpers are full chrome and understated. Tucked up tight and match the rest of the bright work and flow into the door guards.

Checking to see how the new search works. It found this thread, that's good.

Now the stupidest vehicle I have ever seen.

The Leverda 3CL

I think it is a device used to amputate right legs.
