The new Tesla is one of the hottest new cars I've seen in a while--and it's electric.
That's what the Panamera should have looked like.

I did sound for the launch of this in Washington DC, it is stunning in person, quite possibly the most attractive 4 door I have seen in the flesh.

I'd rock the wheels off a Panamera. Two doors are for children. .

Although, I could make an exception for a 911 Turbo AWD.

I use all four doors, every day usually. I'd miss the four doors and it means I can run sport buckets and not have a PITA getting stuff in and out of the backseat

The C6, yes...the C5, maybe. The C4 and earlier, nope.

Do you think they will really be able to meet the $50k price point?

I drove a C4 and then a C5 for maybe six years as my daily commuter. It was fun but also a problem at the same time - commuting in DC rush hour with a standard transmission, getting stuck in snow, and not able to take more than one person at a time. Another advantage is everyone loved me and when I wanted to change lanes and had a signal one, people made an effort to give me a lane.

That's what they say. Half the price of the roadster.

Hamster got it right when he said the Rapide looks like a ballet dancer, the Quattroporte looks like a hit-man, and the Panamera looks like a bloke who has been laying on the bottom of a lake for two weeks.

Walked past a Bentely Continental GT last night. Had to stop and take a second look and then it made me keep looking back longingly as I walked away. Beautifully masculine coupe. Cannot find a pic on the web do really do it justice.

Actually I think that they will, it's not really that complicated a car, the biggest hurdle is the quick change battery pack system. The dash was all touch screen, and you can arrange the controls however suits you, I thought initially that that part would be way to expensive, but it's not really that much different than a big cell screen.

You would not believe what they charge for that kind of dash in the aircraft industry.
A full touchscreen panel can run well into 6 figures itself.
I never understood why either. 3 iPads have more tech and processing power.

If your three iPads crash, you lose the copy of Microserfs you were reading, the porn you were viewing and a game of Words with Friends.

If the soft touch screen on your Citation fails, you stand to lose much more.

Just sayin.

There's a requirement to have back up instruments to at least get you down safely in the event of a crash. Those instruments are all analog.

I have no problem believing that, if the screen in your car fails, you may get a speeding ticket, if the screen in your plane fails, you may fly into a mountain

It was a really cool gig, they had a roadster and a tesla powered smart car there and were giving rides to the assembled masses. Once they introduced the sedan they gave rides in that too. Pretty weird seeing cars circulating in the National Building Museum.

They are eerily quiet. As you can see they had rope and stanchion all the way around the track, with crosswalks and crossing guards to get in and out of the center where the bars & grub was.

You did it backwards. You are supposed to go to In&Out after Chinese, right.
