I thought it was ugly too, but Hartung had a knack for buying one of a kind cars like that. You should look into his story, I'm surprised you hadn't heard about him and his collection.

I thought Hartung was the maker of the car, like he had taken something and added parts to make it an "art car" or whatever... I vaguely recall hearing about it now. I was looking for a project car last November too before I lost my job. I can't believe how cheap some of them went for. I wish I could have gone to the auction.

Venting for the front brakes and something to do with more down force, I think.
Most likely, styling alone.

I'll be in my bunk.

RX3's were here.

Love to get my hands on a REAL Skyline! The closest thing we got was the 510 but LOTS of parts available for them. built on the same chassis. When I was 16 there was a 510 for sale up the street. I had the cash ($1200) My dad would not let me get it. Insisted on me driving the old rusted out VW412 he bought new.

The Gemini made it here as the I-Mark. No performance version as a recall.

I wouldn't mind a Celica GT either. Kind of have half the mind to sell off my 4Runner and gets something fun and thats on the list as is a 510 Course so is a slammed Roadster K5 Blazer with LS1 transplant with a 6speed built to handle.

The best looking car of the last century :p I realize i'm biased because I always drove Chrysler Valiants in my youth.

The 1970 E38 Charger.

And the 1971 E49, this was the fastest accelerating production car in the world at time of release.

Chargers were also pretty good at getting off the ground and flying short distances, unlike the General Lee most failed the landing attempts.

Anything which is made in Eastern Europe and has a scorpion on it is going to be high maintenance and very troublesome. Avoid, no matter how pretty.

What's old is new.

And for these times with the increased popularity of trikes, it makes absolutely perfect sense.

I should point out this car is 100% Australian made and has nothing in common with the American Charger. Here in Aussie land our biggest car race is the once a year 1000km Bathurst mountain race, this is what these supercars were built for.
One of these cars was shipped to Chrysler in the states back in 1971 to see if the Americans could improve the handling but after extensive testing it was shipped back to Australia untouched, they said it was the best handling Chrysler they had ever driven. There also smaller and more compact than you may think.
Also the 1972 E49 pictured bottom "has a 4 on the front guard meaning 4 speed gearbox" was the last of the breed before the government banned the building of supercars in this country because they were becoming to fast killing people then we had the fuel crisis "sure you guys had the same"
I could go on but i'll save you all the misery :)
