^Nice.

1968 280SL. I'm not sure I would actually like one of these as my own, but they have merit. This one is for sale, $180k

Better to put that money toward a Suzuki GSX1300 engine conversion...

Ah the classic MB 600. Definitely one of the cars that had a big part in my loving big old benz sedans. This one is for sale, asking $235k.

Completely ridiculous but I would still love one of these.

In days of yore, this was THE diplomatic service car. And every few years you could have it shipped back to the factory to be rebuilt, retrimmed, and get it generally honed back to a nice, sharp edge.

These are something quite different from mere transportation. If I ever Powerballed, I'd get one just like this, with whatever latest-development parts the factory had developed for the pneumatic stuff.

The rebuild is why this one is so pricey... It was completely redone by the MB classic center. The diplomatic service was another reason why my car intrigued me so much. Definitely right on it being different from mere transportation.

I told a friend that automotive design quit after they made the first 911. I think I'll have to take that back because I forgot about the 928 momentarily.

I was thinking that it might be cool for someone to try a rat rod version of the Lotus 20. Not start with a Lotus 20, but attempt to emulate it in from a hot rod parts bin.

My friend has a 1955 or 1956 MB convertible (this photo is just a google image).
And the thing is in the shop 50% of the time.

Maybe the shop thinks they have joint custody and are enjoying their time with it.

The Mercedes w125 Silver Arrow. Maybe not beautiful, but certainly an amazing car. 646hp in 1937, a figure not exceeded until the early 80's in grand prix cars. (According to Wikipedia.)

This one's debatable. I may just be attached because my dad had one as a kid, but I always thought the old Capri's were gorgeous. Slow as hell, but purty.
