Melvin (the dog.) I have always had a knack as far as animals are concerned, but this guy is the smartest one I've ever owned, and his heart is as big as all outdoors. He even likes going to the vet. He is a border collie/lab mongrel.

My brother and I named our cat niko (or however you spell it). Japanese for cat.

In the last 12 years my wife and I have had:
Casper: female long haired calico cat
Les: male short hair beast of a cat
Eve: female gecko
Lots of unnamed fish
Charlie: 100lb yellow lab
Annabell: currently a 6 month old female half lab half husky

Les, charlie, and annabell are our current pets.

When I was growing up in the 70s, my brother and I really wanted a motorcycle. One day, our father came home from work and handed us a Manchester Terrier. He told us the dog's name was Honda, and that was as close to a motorcycle as we were gonna get.

The next cat will indeed be CAT-5.

Previous models were, Cat, Gato, and киска (which became ba$tardized to "Cooshka").

The most unusual names I gave my four footed family members were:

Nopets: Because there were no pets allowed in my apt

Noname: (pronounced No-nah-meh) Because I really couldn't find a fitting name so I just made "no name" sound Japanese.

P: Because P is for puppy

________________________________________________________________________________________

Currently:

Sooty (Coyote/Lab mix who looks like she's been playing in the fireplace)
Solomon (Third male dog, third King in the Bible)
Trinity (Spasma dog whose life was spared by three special souls)
Genki (Evil cat meaning "high spirit")
Jade (Sweet Calico who has the greenest eyes ever)
Y (Gecko with a Y pattern on her head)
Big snake (The fat corn snake)
Brown snake (The, uh... BROWN snake. Duh.)

Some inventive names here.

Mine,
Jake <the Snake> - named when I got him for my 8th birthday
past pets...
Sylvester - Cat which looked like... you guessed it.
Ziggy - Iguana
Nem - hamster named after my neighbor... which coincidentally died on my neighbors B-day

Always wanted a scorpion and a goldfish...
Fish = Spike
Scorpion = Bubbles.

Torty one and Torty 2 are my 2 turtles. There's also a beta fish, don't know it's name tho. And there's a duck that doesn't leave my backyard. I might need to name him soon... duckie will do nicely.
