Why is this problem wrong?

Find a formula for function G.

I got... -(x+2)^1/2

Why is my answer wrong?!

- sign because it is reflected over the x axis. +2 within the parenthesis because the function is shifted to the left by two units.

Wait, never mind. I was correct, but the web application interpreted my answer as something else: -(x+2)^1/2

Did it interpret your answer as (-(x+2)^1)/2 ?

I'm guessing that when you entered -(x+2)^(1/2) you got the results you were looking for. Gotta remember those parentheses!
