Different band, same watch. Precise time month after month. Has taken several big falls (with me attached) and still ticking. Waterproof rating at 20 ATM.

I'm usually a mountain rider, and we usually don't get excited about watches. I've got a Breitling Chronomat Vitesse two-tone with gold and steel and a pilot bracelet. Breitlings are the best watches ever. period.

I get that all the time, mostly from people who think they know a lot about watches, but really don't. Actually, my watch is a Sea Dweller, not a Submariner, the watch has a 4000 ft depth rating and a gas release valve thus the case is thicker as well as the crystal. Due to the thicker crystal Rolex decided not add the cyclops to the watch. It's been like that since the inception of the Sea Dweller.

Although, the Submariner also comes in a no date model which also has no cyclops.

Would love a Panerai or a Graham Chronofighter as my next watch.
if these watches, especially the Panerais, look good on your wrist, you are too big for your bike. For me, early 90s IWC when not riding.

I'm a big watch fan. I've had my share of Rolex, Panerai and Omega over the years. Current watch is a Omega SMP 2254.50. Nice piece, especially fort he money IMO.

It's safe to say that the people in this forum have impeccable tastes in the finer things in life. My next purchase would be a Seiko Marine Master... We will leave the debate of ETA vs. high-end Japanese movements for another day.

No $300 carbon fiber pump can bring you that.

remember how much this watch meant...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKuDYbnXBJQ
My mom found this old poem/essay that I wrote in 3rd grade.

"If I was in charge of the world there would be no school and no bedtime. Bikes would be free, and you would get to race on them everyday. There would be no sisters and no brothers to tie up race money. Everyone would have just one kid, and nothing would cost money, for me at least."

The only history in a watch that matters to me is that belonging to my great grandfather's Bulova I wear on rare occasions. It's not very valuable and probably wasn't particularly expensive when new, but it's relevant to me. The Italian Royal Navy? Rolex? Comex? May as well be a carbon fiber pump to me.

Well, that's you I suppose, for me that's the je ne sais quoi that surrounds particular watches which is akin to other things such as owning a 993 Porsche (last air cooled porsche produced) or a bottle of 1996 Krug. Although, I suppose these type of things only appeal to a certain kind of person. It seems to be that the $300 floor pump serves only as garage bling which would similar to owning a vertu mobile phone or a watch made by Gucci - they all have the same thing in common; they have no character, no substance.

Here's my Citizen Eco-Drive alternate. I replaced the green canvas band with a black leather band. I like the simplicity.
