Orient 2er series sub homage

Orient Bambino

I like that Orient makes a good automatic watch with an in-house movement at a good price. Everything in my life runs on a battery, so it is nice to have something else that is all gears and body movement.

I wear a Pebble. Here are two of the watch faces. One is a memento mori, the other shows speed and distance.

Just got two new watches with some Christmas money!

The first is a Seiko SPC 081. There's a Seiko store at the outlet mall near where I work and dropped in. This was on sale for $110.

The other is a Stuhrling Spitfire. Cheap, but I have two other Stuhrlings and they are actually very nice. If you squint a little, I think it looks like a Panerai.

How does the Stuhrling hold up? I really like it.

I'm on the search for a watch. I'd like to start a collection, but I don't know much about watches. Right now I wear a Garmin Forerunner 610 all day, because it's my training watch. I'd like something rugged, analog for day-to-day use, and a second watch for dress situations. I'm not looking for the super high end watches at this point, just something to look good, function well, and be strong enough to last several years. I was looking into some field watches, but the general consensus was they last about a year (Columbia Fieldmaster and some other - I forgot its name). My budget could fluctuate. Realistically, I'd probably be looking for something close to $100, but I could go up to $200-$250. This summer I have 5 weddings I've been invited to so far, and I'm trying to piece together some classy wear and a watch is vital.

Current models I'm looking at:
Casual:
-Citizen Men's BM8180-03E "Eco-Drive" Canvas Strap

Dress:
-Stuhrlings Spitfire
-Citizen
Men's BM8240-03E "Eco-Drive" Stainless Steel and Black Leather

Dream watches:
-Movado Museum (black/silver)
-Zeppelin 7642-1, 7664-1, 7682-4, 7046-4, and 7546-1
-Omega Seamaster Bond 50th Anniversary
-Nomos Ludwig, Tangente, Tengomat, Ahoi, and Orion

Looking more into some of the Zeppelins. They are not as expensive as I previously thought.

EDIT: Just found the Junkers 6144-3 and 5. Really dig the look. More of a casual-dress. The accents on the 3 look great IMO, but the 6144-5 would go better with my usual casual shoe of choice (beeswax leather Desert Boots). These watches seem to be near my budget. Thoughts?

So far I have three Stuhrlings. They seem to be as good as any other brand out there. They run a bit on the large size (40+mm), so if you have skinny wrists they might not work. They make some beautiful skelaton watches as well. I think they are really nice watches with great quality. I have a hard time spending more than about $100 on a watch and they have a wide range on styles at that price.

Amazing thread, I love watches but most out of my price range. I bought a Bulova Accutron Spaceview when they came out. Have a Movado and have owned a couple Seiko 5s. Am seriously looking at getting a new one now. I have a few Elgin pocket watches from the early 1900s, and a box of older wrist watches with little value.
I can't imagine not wearing a watch.
Keep posting please.
