...but I'm now officially a semi-pro photographer :-)
Just bought a Canon 20D from a New York Times journalist for an awesome $400. Didn't come with a lens, but I'm borrowing a really nice 28-135 3.5-5.6 USM IS for the moment, and I have the obligatory 50mm 1.8 and the 18-55 3.5-5.6 EF-S that came with my 300D, s o I'm good. She also had a REALLY long warranty plan with a Canon service center, which I might be able to inherit. The only drawback is that the motor for the flash unit doesn't seem to respond properly when popping up the flash unit and throws an error. Restarting the camera with the flash popped up fixes that.
I took some obligatory pictures of my two-wheeled suffering machine, but my internet at home is wonky, so I can't upload them yet. At least from the camera, the pictures look pretty awesome. Hopefully this thing shoots better at ISO 1600 than my 300D did; I hate using flash in low-light situations.
Oh, and 5.0 fps/25-frame buffer is AMAZING!!!! So much better than the 2.5fps/4-frame buffer I had with my old camera.
