looks like eyes i got glaucoma

damn. i've never had any health problems before, but sure enough when i went to get new glasses the eye scan showed some nasty stuff. i had to take a few tests to measure my field of vision, and then i have to go back in december to take the same tests again and compare results to see if i'm losing any vision.

anyone have this? it really sucked to see the inside of my eye all damaged and stuff. i wish i had some of that medical marjuana right now.

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis.

That sucks! I've never had any eye problems, but I think my mom is going through something similar to you right now.

And yeah, the marijuana is supposed to help with that.

Don't let this news get you down. With the technologies available today there so many treatment options available to you! There are many great websites out there (just do a basic google search) where you can learn more about glaucoma, get the latest research/treatment news, and talk to fellow patients. My grandfather was diagnosed with glaucoma 20 years ago. I'm not sure what his exact treatment was, but I know that he's been getting treatment and his eyesight is still doing well 20 years later. So do your research, learn all you can about the latest treatments, keep in close contact with your doctor (get a second opinion if you think it's necessary), and in general try not to be depressed, just do what you gotta do to get after this aggressively and things will work out! Best wishes.

thanks stargazin!

i have been researching and don't think it'll be too bad. i have a fairly strong phobia of all things related to the eyes, so that's why i'm not looking forward to treatments. But, i know there are people with things much worse. and i have insurance so i guess i'm in a decent position.

Yeah I saw your face when sally was talking about that eye operation on tv, where the doctor sliced the guy's eyeball open and peeled back the outer layer... anyways, that sucks dude.

Is it in 1 eye or both eyes?

yeah, i can't deal with that crap. i'd rather just be blind than have my eyeball disassembled and put back together again.

most of it is in one eye, with a little starting in the other. the doc thinks it could be stable and not get any worse. that's why he wants to test again later in the year. hopefully that's the case.

you got a day off today? or can you post again at work?

sorry to hear this. I got some moderate floaters in both eyes a few years back (obviously less serious, but still an unpleasant surprise). Hope your case turns out to be minimal or misdiagnosed.
