These people made a choice that changed their lives.

My fiancé and I were married in November 2002. Lori was working a dead end banking job and I was finishing off a business administration degree with minors in finance and accounting. After four years of University and jobs in both the banking and retail sales industry I knew that working for myself was the only way to go! - Cory Reynods

I worked in various forms of Information Technology for the past 31 years and my wife had always worked in administrative support and customer service. We wanted the security that having our own successful business would give our family and we wanted more time with our kids. So when I got laid off from my last J.O.B. and found this opportunity we just knew that this was our answer - Don Wilder

After spending years in retail management and in the construction industry, we were tired of keeping someone else's schedule! Too tired at the end of the day to enjoy our family, we decided to look for a better way. This business was the answer for us, as it allowed us to earn income from home, on our terms. It's been two years now, and we are both running this business full-time. Our dreams are becoming a reality - Anne Bullen

I had worked as a lab technician for a number of years, but when we had children, daycare costs blew me away. I decided to stay at home and work around my family using my computer and now I make more money than I did working full-time! - Shannon Dyck

I had spent 20 years working in a dead-end job doing marketing & advertising. My husband works in engineering and even with two incomes, we were purchasing more on credit than we were banking from our full time jobs. Working part time, I earned an extra $600 in my first month and after only 18 months, I was banking more than $6,000 a month full-time. - Karen Winter

Phrases like "build your business" and "ready to make your dreams come true" automatically mean they are in the business of selling start-up kits for something. Amway's biggest product, for instance, is not the soap or other crap they say they sell, but start-up kits for "young entrepreneurs".

Don't walk away, run (or ride)!
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

No mention of the company they're affiliated with. No mention of what the company actually does. No mention of job details, necessary experience, or actual training offered (Oh, wait... "You will be trained to use the internet, the mail and the phone from home to build your business.")

Smells scam-tacular to me. Maybe it's just the skeptical engineering side of me, but I won't even consider a job offer where there isn't an explanation of job duties and/or reporting structure. I don't have a lot of confidence in job offers from companies which won't publish their company name in their job listing.

"Opportunities available! We're that company who works with those other places to supply those things you like! You can work as much or as little as you desire. Read these testimonials:
    - 'I used to work 2 dead-end jobs until I found The Company. Now I work at home'
    - 'I was a stressed out Fortune 500 executive for Another Company until I realized my dream of working from home. The Company is the opportunity of a lifetime! Thanks, The Company.'"

If someone E-mails you saying you can build your own business, cut and run. The real opportunities are not handed to everyone via spam on a silver platter. The economy is collapsing, any legit provider can find a lot of people to choose from by hitting monster.com, and not spit out spam.

Legit franchises require proof of assets and income so they know a franchisee meets their brand quality standards.

If you desire a work at home job, there are legit ones out there.

    It's a scam.
"Real wars of words are harder to win. They require thought, insight, precision, articulation, knowledge, and experience. They require the humility to admit when you are wrong.
