Someone slap me

What the hell was I thinking. I'm now leaving for a bike ride with my mom (who hasn't ridden in years) and I'm so depressed.

I told her to leave me alone, though. So maybe that'll help. :(

fuzzbox 07-19-08 12:31 PM

Jerk.

Sorry, I didn't tell my mom to leave me alone. I like my mom. I told....Her...

Maybe the ride will make you feel better? Quality mother and son time? If there is anyone who can sympathize with a broken hearted young man, its would be his mother.

fuzzbox 07-19-08 12:34 PM

Oh, well, I thought I'd be the one to say something mean first.

The Official UnsafeAlpine Strategy: We're reserving the mean things for when he relapses and calls that Ex. As long as he ceases contact, we're being nice and supportive.

I had to learn this stuff the hard way. Let's not deprive UA of this educational experience.

You guys are not helping. :notamused:

I'm in a similar position as UnsafeAlpine. I've been dragged through the mud. She broke up with me and all too. Lots of mixed signals, so i confronted her last night. Despite breaking up with me, she has made no attempt to move on but doesn't want to date me. So I said f-her, no way I can be friends with her if i supposed to be moving on. I laid the law down and blocked her online and wont answer when/if she calls. We dated for the last 3 years and were talking about marriage too. Love of my life, no doubt, but she don't care about me anymore. It hurts, but its the only to move on. I getting into hunting now with a coworker, so once i get good enough and know how to dress a dead dear (and no, not put clothes on it) me thinking i'll move out into the Wilds of Alaska, Survivor-Man style (but w/o the TV crew).

You are leaving yourself wide open with that one.

And I shared my experience of provoking a beating - and then dialing the police on her.

Siu Blue Wind 07-19-08 02:57 PM

(Fuzzy hasn't been around for a couple of weeks)

His ex is stringing him along and we are trying to help him get through this. Even though he tries to go out and do other things (like riding with mom) he's gonna be bummed for a while. That's just part of the process.

I flicked him in the forehead earlier, does that count?

v1k1ng1001 07-20-08 12:35 AM

his ex is obviously running his show

he will either learn to walk away from this repetitious misery or he will simply be a broken man at her mercy for the rest of his life

let him take his lesson in peace!

UnsafeAlpine 07-20-08 12:37 AM

I keep looking at that job advertised in the bike mechanics section. The one in Kathmandu....

freudian slip?

j/k, good on ya for avoiding her.

best of luck out in the bush. i'd like to try that someday. I worked with a guy that did it. His stories are amazing.

fuzzbox 07-20-08 01:28 AM

It isn't nice to be mean to your mom though.

Damn, first the ex, then the mom. Buy your mom a Ti Road Bike as penance.

PlayNurse 07-20-08 02:56 AM

maybe you should get a girlfriend.

RubenX 07-20-08 02:59 AM

A tip to all Moms out there...

When your son has a broken heart, your prescence can't help. It works better if you call your fellow succer-mom-friends, find who has an available/willing/legally-aged daugther and hook her up with your son.

PS: You might skip the legaly aged part in certain hillbillish parts of the central states.
